The Traditional Nine Ring Broadsword is one of many variations of the Chinese Broadsword. The Nine Ring variation provides steel rings along the spine side of the blade to both create noise (for distraction in combat and showmanship in performance) and to make stab wounds “dirtier”. They can also be used to catch opponents’ weapons.
