The Praying Mantis Double Handed Sword is made by the Shen Guang Long Sword Factory historically known in China for its hand forged swords. Functionality, weight and balance are paramount considerations in the construction of these long two hand Tai Chi straight swords. The blade is crafted in improved high carbon content steel made to resist moisture and staining with a blade length of 39″ long. The The Praying Mantis Double Handed Swords overall length is 48″ and the handle is 9″ from guard to end of pommel. The swords blade can hold its weight when placed on its tip and has little to no flex. It has a balance point approximately 2.5″ from the guard on the blade side. The sword guard, pommel and scabbard fitting are made of brass. The wood material used for the handle and scabbard is made of stained rich dark brown pear wood giving it a nice traditional refined look.
